The rally organisers also called on the Australian government to recognise FYROM as the "Republic of Macedonia", something the Australian government has said it wont do. Several placards were held featuring a defaced Greek flag where the cross was replaced by a swastika. Hundreds of posters and banners featuring 'Greater Macedonia', including a large portion of Greek territory. The Greek community has expressed its concern at the 'fanaticism and racism against Greeks of an extreme minority'. Greek flags were also burnt on the day. The March finished up outside the Victorian State Parliament. ![]()
