The nationalist party of Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, the VMRO-DPMNE, looks set to be returned in a landslide in the national assembly elections of June 1 to be held in FYROM (The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia). Gruevski and his party, often touted as being far-right and ultra-nationalist, look set to cash in on the nationalist vote after his its stand off with Greece regarding the name Macedonia and also because of his hardline stance towards the country's large Albanian minority. According to the poll conducted by the Center for Research and Policy Making Methodology, 26% of the population said it would vote for the nternal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization - The rise of nationalist forces have been ominously noted by European Commissioner for Enlargement, Olli Rehn.
