Macedoniaontheweb has obtained a response from Andrew Robb, Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs, which distanced the main Australian opposition party, the Liberal Party from comments by one of its MP's in regards to the Macedonian issue. Liberal MP for Cowan in Western Australia, Luke Simpkins, on wednesday in parliament said that Australia should change its policy on the Macedonian issue and recognise the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia as the "Republic of Macedonia". Andrew Robb has said via a press release obtained by Macedoniaontheweb that "Mr. Simpkin's comments were "made as an individual". Mr. Robb also said that "The Liberal and National parties support the current round of UN-led international discussions that are taking place between Greece and Macedonia over the name dispute".
