Come on TirAlb.. You cant tell me that all this with South Ossetia would have happened if it wasnt for Kosovo?

Kosova has nothing to do with that conflict, what happened there was the natural conclusion of an old Russo-Georgian mess. As we know the strongest always wins. The precedent for what Russia did must be searched elsewhere, in Cyprus for example.

You fail to see the conflict yet South Ossetia declared independence on the same day Kosovo did. And the Russian-U.S dynamic which showed Russia to be impotent in the Balkans was reversed in the Caucasus.

You can't blame Kosovars for every stupid idea passing through Putins brain,whatever excuse he may use,and in any case this is not some sort of word wide domino effect started from the Kosovar independence, but is just a Russian coldy preparated reply to the west.
However what counts is the Russian recognition of these regions and that wasn't made after the US recognition of Kosovo, but 6 month latters and apparebtly because of the Georgian aggression in Ossetia.

I agree with TiurAlb here the precedence is Cyprus as the Russians claimed they went in to protect their "Russian minority".........

There are no Russians in South Ossetia, just an Iranic people (Ossetes) who prefer Russian domination to Georgian.

You can't blame Kosovars

I dont blame Kosovars Albanians. I dont blame Albanians in Albania either. Kosovars had a minimal role in their fight against Serbia and eventual independence. Of course they wouldnt want to be apart of Serbia. I blame those who granted the Kosovars their every wish under the pretence of stability.

You know thats not true.. Thats just a Russian excuse.. But listening to their FM, he has mentioned Kosovo a number of times.. Even their President mentioned it.. Lets just say that it wouldn't have happened if the US hadn't intervened in Kosovo.. The Russians used it as an excuse.. And who can blame them? This is the US's mess..
