The lack of international reaction in regards to this excessive behaviour comes as little suprise to me, given China's economic and strategic importance to partner bussiness countries...no names needed.

I have read that the Dalai Lama was exiled and acused of the turned violent demonstration.

Check this news fragment out which backs my words above:

The United States, which led a major boycott of the 1980 Moscow Games over the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, has no intention to stop its athletes from going to Beijing, according the United States Olympic Committee.

But in Taiwan, which China considers its own, presidential candidate Ma Ying-jeou, whose KMT Party has traditionally favoured better ties with China, said on Tuesday he would consider an Olympic boycott if elected on Saturday.

I remember right before the 2004 Olympics when the head of the Canadian Olympic athletes protested against Greece getting rid of all the stray dogs in and around Athens.

Guaranteed not a peep from him about prison and near slave labour conditions in China.

We Canadians are becoming a nation of idiots. Canada supports Kosovo (with Quebec ready to do the same). We support dogs but not Tibetans. We say nothing about Taiwan. We can't make up our minds about FYROM so we follow the Americans. Pathetic.
