Little was achieved but this "operation" was solely for internal consumption anyway. Turkey is still a country of under-educated peasents so they won't know any better or that Uncle Sam actually pressured them to withdraw, that the Peshmerga intercepted the Turkish forces at one point and the PKK shot down one of their helicopter gunships (operational accident is what the Turks insist). The result: the Turks counted 230 PKK dead (exaggeration or not there's still 6,750 to go), destoryed five bridges and some empty buildings and moved a lot of mud. But the PKK is intact as it has been for the last 23 years, Diyabakir remains the Turkish Westbank. It's just a cycle.
