Su-27 is definitely the best aircraft of the 4th generation and can excel in combat against F-15 or F-16 regardless of the inferior electronics of the main design, but it is no match for 5th generation F-22 or F-35.Nevertheless, it is current basic aircraft of the Russian Air Force.

Too bad that Greece, which has an impressive Air Force, once rejected to buy upgraded Su's regardless of the fact that unlike USA, these were not degraded, "export" version..........they would prove excellent for deeper air-superiority mission v. Turkey that it is not in capability of F-16s, and Sukhoi latest Su-27 derived models have NATO-harmonized avionics and Flight managemant systems and datalinks.
