Slovenia, Croatia, Albania, Bosnia and Montenegro do not border the Aegean, they border the Adriatic and Ionian. As for Monaco and Syria I do not know.

Monaco is a french protectorate, so it participate indirectly in everything France participates. Syria s policies are not aligned so far with the western conventions so I would think it will take a bit longer for syria to join the union at least till all grey points are clarified. Finally eastern balkan enclave is a very problematic area dominated by religious (particularly islamic) turmoil. With the exception of Slovenia I wouldn t see any progress for the rest of the countries for any kind of integration like Med Union, EU, NATO etc.

Crap... What is known about this idea, will we have easy entrance to the countries of the union like with the EU etc? And as Yannis said, Portugal is in the Atlantic...

Why does the European "Union" have to have a currency, a parliament, a anthem and a flag???? It should be called the "Soon To Be European Super State But We Don't Want You To Know".

The Islamic consciousness is diametrically opposed to the European one. A union of this sort will never work.
