Default Olvios may i have your attention on this one!

Hi Olvios!

I see you have a good knowledge of Epirotic tribes, such as the Molossians and their subtribes such as Chaones and Lynkestaea...

Here's my big problem...I am sure you have heard of the Encheleans they were a tribe that lived in the Ohrid/Lychnidus lake area..which is very close to the Lyncestian land actually between the Molossian and Lyncestian..

Now regarding the Trebenista masks 4 golden ones with unmistakeably Heelnic features were found where the supposed Enchelean capital was , (Ohrid airport area) now these Encheleans are mentioned in several reports Thucydides mentions them in the Mardonius campaign/ they are mentioned in the Argonautica section V of the last book/ there is also mentioning of them that during the 41st approximately Olympiad they almost sacked Delphi (this might only be a rumor, no scientific closure on that allthough mentioned in some Greek sources/And oofcourse the Cadmus and Harmonia legend where it is stated that Cadmus helped the Encheleans who were at war with the Illyrians...also the Encheleans used Athenian/Greek mercenaries which implies they have a Greek native tongue and had atleast enough money for it..

Also Thucydides mentions clearly the Enchelian kingdom...now regarding those masks from trebenista...and the fact that the Lyncestians where descents from the bachiads from Corinth the Enchelean royalty must had been a royal line from Greece/Hellenesic but it seems to have been lost in time..

Can you help me on this big issue?

Oh yes almost forgot they were not Illyrian...!!

The mythical progenitors are Cadmus and Harmonia(Thebans) and sometimes Heracles as Yllos is the son of Heracles and Dianeira that is for Illyrians -though actually they claimed that Hyllus a son of Heracles settled the there- but you ask for Encheleans specifically.Illyrians that received hellenic infuence due to their close proximity to the Epirotes. They are illyrians.Maybe they were viewed differently by some people due to some cultural changes from Greek influences.

Thanks!

The big issue is those 4 masks all Hellenic features...the Enchelen royal house must had been Greeks as in Enchelean people could had been a astray Illyrian type...but the Enchelian probable capital is very close to the Trebenista necropolis you can see the masks with the Hellenic key on the Fyrom /Greek brotherhood topic...good reasearch must be done to solve this..but your heracles theory is intresting at least...!

There is also another saying about several sons of dardanus who had offspring with names like Taulanti/Enchelus etc...

What do you mean with the Illyrians were lead there by his son...??
All i know is there was definatley Argaed/Mycenean royalty in Trebenista..but noone can clear this up...It is a fact that the Molossian ethne the Lyncestians were descendends from the Bachiads ...but surprisingly much more necropoli were found including the deathmasks in the Lychnidus/Trebenista area then in Lyncestian ground...but it still remains as a mistery...I was hoping someone could have a good opinion about that..

The Encheleans were a big tribe supposedly that came from the Skumbhin area or Drilon part followinf the river upstream to lake Lychnitis and astayed there...but it could had been the native homeland of the Brygis as well because on the Findlay map on Ptolemy based geography you can find the town Brygas between Lake Lychnitis and Prespa lake...

there would be no enmity but they are brainwashed. They make their own conclusion and imagine things as they would like them to be in the most idiotic manner.Nomatter how many ancient sources we cite and arcaheologic proof they remain in their fantasy world .i am so tired

Hi Olvios!

Relax and take a deep breath......here on this site most people use logic, and you will not easily find brainwashed Fyromians or Albanians except on this topic of course but they are not present right now...luckily...

Ahmm anyway thanks for the link but i can't read Greek i'm from the Netherlands so it would take me a speed course in Greek to translate it myself in...asking you to translate a tiny bit of the text would i be asking to much of you???

All the best

Cadmus..
