Orpheus lived in Greek and not Bulgarian or Rumanian or Turkish part of Thrace.Thracians were hellenized at a great number and are part of Greek history and literature for millenia.

What do they want? To provoke us further or to make us cede to their internal consumption political games? They are slavs and bulgars that speak a Slavonic language that may have some thracian "blood" and have thracian archaeologies and areas.Do they think they are some sort of thracian paragons? The same type propaganda turkey, albania, fyrom throws at us and at its people.EU makes no difference.

If they do find significant finds they will claim it ..and there is not much for Greece to do except focus and emphasizing that it's Hellenic-Thracian and not Slavic..So the slavs in Bulgaria should not claim it, only their slavic heritage which is not Thracian ..but looking at all of Bulgaria's Slavic conscience you must be prepared for those claims as Bulgarian Slavic heritage as they will say...nevertheless i don't think they will distort important evidence and change it to prove it was Slavic from the beginning.

Whatever they find more Orpheus was born in Pieria and lived in Greek thrace as all sources tell us.Bulgarians say that he lived in their part which he didnt. What a bunch of @@holes.Whatever they find nothing will change. The same with the other states.

Their tomb article
A bulgarian expedition of archaeologists, lead by Nikolai Ovcharov (he made the nazi statement), is studying a unique tomb that belongs to the ancient people of Thrace* (what is today Greece and southern Bulgaria). But could the tomb belong to the well known musician Orpheus.....Orpheus is said to have come from Bulgaria’s southern Rhodope Mountains. No he hasnt bulgarian propagandists he came from Pieria,Greece and ruled over the Cicones in Greek thracian coast.

*much more than that but he omits it.

Another part of the bulgarian article
"He is also believed to have been buried there(bulgaria)" (by bulgarian nationalist fantasy)
Reality check
1.His head fell into the sea and was cast by the waves upon the island of Lesbos where the Lesbians buried it, and for having done this the Lesbians have the reputation of being skilled in music.
2.It has also been said that Orpheus' scattered limbs were gathered by the MUSES*, who buried them and put the Lyre among the constellations as a memorial.

A greek Island or Outer space.

On parentage

1. Oeagrus(thracian) & Calliope(greek muse) The muses were greeks then deified into gods.

1.Apollo & Pierus' Daughter(Pierus is a greek king of Pella in Macedonia and son of Magnes, another greek)

No Bulgarians or Slavs.I see a Thracian and a Greek and a God and a Greek.Other varieties of the myth are similar.

*Thus the MUSES are sometimes called PIERIDES, but otherwise this is the name of nine sisters, daughters of Pierus, who defied the MUSES in a contest of song and, having been defeated, were turned into magpies, greenfinches, goldfinches, ducks, and other birds

Well, aparently there are some bulgarians who believe they are ancient thracians. Nobody takes them seriously, but some of the members of their "society" have a significant ammount of money.

Yes he is.
There is also a theory Dionis was an mirror image of Jesus because of the name
Dion-Isus, Dion-Jesus, and "dion" apparantely meaned ressurect.

So some freaking bulgarian "thraciologyst" claim Dionysus was the second Jesus

Actually Dionysus has little to do with Thrace, son of either Zeus and Semele (Cadmus' daughter) or Persephone. Only after Zeus provides him with shelter both in his thigh and by hiding him in mount Nysa or by giving him to Hermes' who entrusted him to Ino (Semele's sister) and after fulfilling his "schooling" under the guidance of Rhea in Phrygia does he take the root of return. Its only then that he upon his visit in Thrace shows his powers by driving Lycurgus of Thrace mad which lead him to suicide, most probably why he's associated with Thrace.
