I hope he is not extremist and hopefully he finally understands it is year 2007. I don't agree that Slavs or any other ethnicity should rule the Balkans. I dream to see good and wise people who are in charge!

Perhaps if you had testicles you would know to appreciate them more.
And if you had some propriety you wouldn t use this word on an open forum.
Apparently you have neither.
I am very sorry about that. Farewell

Also let me remind you the Battle of Kleidion. So do not try to persuade me about the greek-bulgarian friendship which never existed.
Greeks are traditional allies with the slavs (russians, serbians, montenegrians etc)
Not with the Bulgars (both bulgarians and skopians) and not with the turks.
Quite True)

History is a lot more complex than this. Sadly I doubt you'll get it, after all you're talking of "friendship" and "traditional allies", let alone understanding the concept of ethnicity, nationality, history and habits of central asian tribes, what a Mongol or Tatar means etc.

Bagatur,
I really do not understand this thread.
The Proto-Bulgars were either a Turcic tribe or an Iranian tribe. But they were few. They conquered the people of present day Bulgaria and established a kingdom where the ruling class were Proto-Bulgars and the vast amount of people were the result of mixing between Slavs and indigenous Thracians. All the above can be found in any book on European History.

After 1300 years, the Proto-Bulgars, were they of Turcic or Iranian origin, have been completely absorbed and vanished in the sea of Slavo-Thracians.

So, the very quastion "Are Bulgarians Europenas ? " has no meaning.

As for 'traditional' friends, I have a different opinion.
We were friends with Serbs and Russians because we did not have a common border to dispute .....

Bulgarians are as Europeans as SlavoSkopians.
Bulgarians are Slavs and thus Europeans.

Blood and dna are not related to cultural identities.

I am afraid this is wishfull thinking, though. I am 75 and I have not seen a day that good people were in charge, I would agree to have some good people even if they were not wise.......
