If you do tell me: aren't there plenty, perhaphs in great minority of Bulgarians that look completely otherwise: shorter or taller, with different facial characteristic, hair and eye color.

Yeah, that's true and can be applied to any ethnicity. The problem is that simple people will probably never understand it and always speak of "Bulgarian BLOOD" etc.
