Yes this alphabet was invented for the Slavic speaking tribes using the Greek, it is much like the Russian alphabet does you not think so? Your alphabet is the nearest possible to the Russian one without any Latin characters. And the bulgarians were the first slavic speaking tribe to whom this alphabet was distributed later the other slavs adopted it also but some of them ashamed of their slavic roots maybe switched to Latin Alphabet like Slovakia, Poland and so on........yes I agree with you complettly that the bulgars are not pure slavs but have some other influences from tribes like Kumans, Protobulgarians kutriguri and Utriguri, Avars (in alliance with whom they attacked many Greek villiges in Northern Greece), Pechenegs, maybe even Hazars I'm not shure exactly for the last maybe to little extent. And last some bulgars mixed with Hellenes in Macedonia but they were complettly Hellenized and are no more bulgars (this number is not big) because the great part of them left Greece in the exchange of the populations..........

The original Bulgarians weren't Slavs that is correct but they intermixed with the Slavic migrations that came from up north.Sadly for the Bulgars they were totally swallowed up by the mass breeding Slavs(similar to what's going to happen with the Albanians & fyromians).Today Bulgaria is a Slavic nation I'm sorry to say this to u Tankistab.I mean no offence mate but this is the fact if anything the original Bulgars came from the steppes of Central Asia are really were more connected with the Turks than the East European Slavs.

This thread is absolutely ridiculous. Slavicwolf is right about saying that this type of "bulgarism" is the absolute equivalence of the fyrom macedonism. Since the origin of the proto-bulgars is quite obscure and controversial and more than 17 theories exist you can imagine this to be an open field for all kind of speculations, wild theories and pure fantasies. This is also the base for the many nazi movements that are rising in Bulgaria which are the result of many years of total opression of all kind of nationalism. The anti-slavic feeling are also explainable by the domination of Russia and it's panslavism (which I must agree is nothing else but a plot for domination of Russia over the rest of the slavs). People just like to distance themselves from Russia, but this nazism is just...

And make no mistake that tankistabg and many others like him are nazis and not nationalists. Their hero is noone else but Adolf Hitler himself. They would put the swastikas everywhere(like they do in many other forums) if it wasn't forbidden and they wouldn't be banned.

I just hope this whole nazi histeria will go away, there are already signs it passed it's peak and it's starting to decline.

I want to add also one thing that has been said many times. Language, ethnicy and culture are not related to race. These things travel faster than genes.

Nowadays "slavic" is more a linguistic therm than anything else. People from different races speak slavic. The same with "turkic".


Everything else is pseudoscience. I thought the days when the people were judged ethnically by their physical appearance were long gone...
