When I make my conclusions I follow the RED THREAD and take under consideration most scientists, old chronicles, Encyclopedias, etc, who are commonly close to the "truth".
I understand that you are fluent in Bulgarian and as such I didn't mean to send that translation to you specifically. Since the official language in the forum is English there is no other way.
Then, I know that B.Dimitrov is not the only historian and reference point for that in Bulgaria. Some things he writes also doesn't appear quite solidly backed by facts, but at least in most of the times there is logic in his writings. And another positive thing according to me is that he writes for the general public.
I think that Bulgaria is in such a state of its development that it doesn't need to falsify history to get benefits out of it. But it does need to clear myths, popularize history and help build national self-esteem.

I'm a Macedon-Thracian & my grand parents only knew Greek.

Thracians butchered you Bulgars from Constaninople to the Danube.

Btw i believe that todays Bulgarians still have the Thracian genes for some of them...the rest is Slavic/Bulgarian or Turkish.

Well I think that it's the nature of the Swamp that "protects" it's citizens and it is being avoided by the invaders because of the Malaria ...The Roumloukiotes wern't more strong than the other Macedonians ...it's just that the Invaders hated the Swamp

The only ones really Strong and Fighters were the inhabitans from Neokhori in the northwest of Roumlouki ..the komitatzis burned their church and from that day they were sleeping with their guns ...

Well I have to finish Hammond's "The Macedonian State" because I left it in page 50 !!! Then I have the last 100 pages of Dakin Douglas' "The Greek struggle over Macedonia" ...but I also have a great will to buy and read A.P. Christidis "The history of the Greek Language" ...1213 pages from the proto-Indoeuropeans to the varius classical greek dialects !!! Sounds Interesting.

Certainly I'll have to find some time to reread Hammond's "HoM" Volume I and help you with your lake region !!

•IT IS EXACTLY HOW YOU SCREAMED WHEN BULGARIANS SLAUGHTERED YOU IN MOST WARS. You were subjeckts during Bulgarian Empires. And you also lost wars in the battlefield during Balkan wars.

•And in both World War I + II Bulgarians fucked you, you lost wars on the battle field again, and the ONLY thing which saved you asses were Big Powers and Bulgarian retreat-ment from your lands due to PIECE TREATIES. Get it to you head for once. THAT IS WHAT YOU CALL DEFEAT OF BULGARIANS. Hahahaahahah……………

Bulgaria will always be remembered as the perennial losers in all wars they have entered...
