Bulgarians are Slavs. Reason: in modern context a Slav is a native speaker of a Slavic language.

If ancestry is what determines one's ethnicity then raising that issue would be opening a can of worms regarding every ethnic group.

Bulgarians have slavic language, but that is IT!
We are not slavic in blood like serbs and russians. Bulgarians DON"T have slavic mythology, slavic customs, slavic rithuals and slavic blood.

We just use slavic language. That doesn't mean we are slavs!

Yes it does! What makes you think that the Russians and Serbs have "Slavic blood" (whatever that is)?

What are "Slavic customs" and "Slavic rituals"? Are there any rituals that the Russians and Serbs have in common but the Bulgarians don't have?

Finally, how is "Slavic mythology" relevant at all? Mythology is something ancient peoples have, not modern peoples.

Genetics is a very shady area and cannot be used to prove or disprove ethnicity. Many modern Bulgarians could have some Greek, Gypsy, Romanian or Turkish ancestry that they are not aware of, but this doesn't make them any less Bulgarian.

Does the character Baba Yaga ring any bells? It's a character found in the folklore of Serbs, Bulgarians, Russians, Ukrainians, Poles, Czechs, Slovaks, Slovenes (and generally all Slavic peoples) but not in that of Turks, Tatars, Bashkirs etc.
