Admin,

"The Slavs" by Marija Gimbutas is probably the single best book about Slavs from their differebtiations from Proto-Indo-Europeans all the way to the Medieval Expansions, with plenty of maps, archeogical articles , lingustic analysis, essays on religion, everyday life, contacts with Germanic, Baltic, Turkic, Byzantine worlds, in a very beautiful language on 260 pages.

It is part of "Thames and Hudson's" edition "Peoples of the World", and probably, by its very concept, one of the best books in that edition.I haven't checked, but I do not believe that a copy of that book on sites like Amazon.com is expensive, given the date, and relatively modest technology used in the production.

I'll scan several other maps later.

Regards,
Vasiliye

Default The Content of the Book

I will post authoritative maps on the "Maps" forum which will demonstate the process of the Slavic genesis, ancestral land and their expansion, with comments, later.

Hmm. Why are the arrows from Singidunum (Belgrade) pointing to Vardar and Scutari (Skopje)? Interesting...I wonder...

nothing interesting about that, i know that the macedonians have part slavonic links, but that doesnt mean they dont have ancient macedonian ones too.
Im more interested to here about "the ancient greek charachter" of modern greece.
