Ive heard that name among a few fyromanians from Greece. There are some big differences in names between the fyromanians from fyrom and from Greece. You will find almost no DRagans,Ljubchos,Snezanas or BIlyanas among the Greek ones.

Despina (Деспина) is not unusual, but it is not common. It is most common in the Monastir/Bitola and the surrounding regions all the way to the border with Greece. As a trivia, I will add that the first FYROMian film is a brief 1905 footage by Milton Manaki, a Vlach photographer from Monastir of his grandomother Despina.

Violeta (Виолета) is a common Bulgarian name. Other female names of the fyromists ten are also widely used in Bulgaria, with the exception of Bilyana and Vesna, which are typically Serbian names.

No, it isn't. Neither is Maria, but it is still the most common name both in Bulgaria and in the FYROM (and I think, in Greece, too)...

By the way, the most common Bulgarain male name is Ivan, but the names of Nikola, Petar and Dimitar (Demetrios) come next.

Do the Fyromians also have the thing the Greeks have where they don't name their boys Jesus? (As in Hristós, not Hr*stos). This would explain why their most popular boy's name is after the second-greatest man in history, along with Maria, the greatest woman.

Vasiliye i would also like to add some names from people i know. I had friends in public school named Zdrafko and Nenad(brothers) and their last name ended in IC but they were ardent 'macedonians' clearly i see those are Serbian names now. Another friend from bitola was named Vlade(slavic/russian name) . How about these ones,
Gordanka, Zlatko, Lupco,Trajana,Svetlana,Blagoja,Cvetomir,Tomislav
all these courtesy of 'macedonianconnection.com' theres many many more
They claim to be descendants of Alexander the Great so these names must be some common names of Alexanders generals lol
