Well, I read parts of the 1st book posted by kzk842
"THE HISTORY
OF
THE BALKAN PENINSULA

FROM THE EARLIEST TIMES
TO THE PRESENT DAY"

And I should say that I was not impressed by its historical value. I noticed it was published in 1922 so this could be part of the reason why. Anyway, to me it sounds quite speculative and with a lot of inaccuracies especially when it talks about the Bulgarians and the First Bulgarian State - I didn't read after that. I should admit I'm not a historian, although I know this and that about the history of the Balkans.
Interesting to know your opinion.

In this book, we hit a trifecta all in just two pages

1) Backs up the obvious evidence of a Slav invasion during the 7th AD into the Balkans
2) Cyril and Methodius were Greeks
3) Basil slaughtered the Bulgarian Tsar Samuel

Oh and also, the Slavs had a minimal effect on the population of and culture of Greece as they were Hellenized.

Yes, I would like to share my view, but also like to make references to some websites, which I can not do since this is my 2nd post here. I need 3 more to be able to include URLs.

I can't believe this book states that Albanians are descended from the Illyrians.

Its the same problem im trying to understand for years, how come people so close living next to eachother have such different languages but share the same genetics?

Southern Fyromians aren't that different from Northern Greeks and Southwestern Albanians..there are not all the same but many share great similarities..

What happened that areas so close to Greek and Albanian remained Slavic/Albanian or Greek?

I say it was politics and linguistic influx thru hundreds of years..but that doesnt change genetics..

I looked at many people in Albania and southern Fyrom during my last visit this summer and i found many similarities..(havent been to Greece yet)
There is more to it..in southern Fyrom i can pick out easily who are not the same as others in facial appearences some do look very Slavic some very European and some very darkskinned like the gypsies..i think it has to do with the reference to the Salade Macedonie , but like Andrew says EV-13 genes and the Slavic markers should be researched and before that it should be applied to the 3 major groupes i mentioned before seperately and then catagorised and implemented to look at Slavic invasion theories and later settlements.

I can't understand what you mean by some look Slavic, others European?!? What is the criteria for looking European? I think that if people from Czech, Slovakia or Poland see what you wrote you'll get many angry (rightfully so) replies.
