Did you notice it ???
Since the Skop folks are "sentimentaly bound" with their older maps and claims
they keep showing us their older maps ..and their old "definition" of "Macedonia".
First of all ..when someone must evaluate a map of Macedonia he has to orientate it ...The West-East line passes from the most Southern point if Little Prespa Lake in the West , passes a bit northern from Thessalonike , from the inner point of the Strymonic gulf and , finaly, it divides the Thasos Island in 1/3 North and 2/3 south. It's perpendicular axis is the North-South direction.
After that you can see that in their maps they "tend" to exclude the Southern parts of what was the Modern (late Ottoman and post-Ottoman)Geographic Macedonia (the 3 vilaetia of Thessaloniki , Bitola and Kosovo).
Why did they "ommessed" regions like Pieria , Eastern Emathia , Elymia (Kozani) , Tymphaea (Grevena) and some parts of Orestid (Kastoria) ??
Simply because their "geographers" (their refers to Slavs ..that is Bulgarians mainly and some Serbs) gave a definition of Macedonia which excluded the purely or heavily greek-speaking regions. If that wasn't enough they "expanded" Macedonia to the North to include Skopje and Kosovo in order to enhance the Slavic fraction of the population . By enhancing the slavic fraction and by "ommitting" regions with a large Greek fraction they presented a heavily slavic "Macedonia".
The interesting part is that when they made these "alterations" we didn't know much about ancient macedonia , a heritage necessary for their "macedonism" propaganda. Until 1977 that Andronikos discovered and demonstrated NGL Hammond's opinion that the first capital of the Ancient Macedonians was Aegea in modern day Vergina (positioned in the borders of South East Emathia and Northern Pieria , two territories "excluded" by the Slavic definition of Macedonia) ...everybody else though t that Aegea was even North West ..somewhere about Edhessa ...a place included in their Maps.
But after the 1977 discovery and after other discoveries that demonstrated the essential role of territories like Pieria , Elymia and Emathia. Their old maps didn't fit well with their "macedonism" propaganda. Today we are certain that the Ancient Macedonians were a North Western Greek tribe originating from the Orestis region (Kastoria) and was "pushed" to Pieria , were they built their capital Aegea , their religius town Dion and from where they started their expansion and formed the known ancient Macedonian Kingdom.
So after the 80s ..the slavo-"macedonismic" movement had to "change" their maps in order to include the "crucial" territories like Pieria and Elymia etc ...
..The funny thing is that some poeple are still attached to the older "symbolic" maps and keep exposing them as the ones in the photos I show you .
The territories "excluded" , back in the 1900s had a NATIVE greek speaking population of about
: 180.000-200.000 and about 30.000 pro-Greek Vlachs. These numbers are about 10% of the population of the whole-3-vilaetia Macedonia ...and about 30% of the population dwelling the correct "historical" Macedonia.
Summed with the unquestionable native Greek-Speaking population of other territories like Khalkidike , Serres , Drama , Kavala , Thessaloniki , Monastiri etc give a fraction of more than 40% of NATIVE Greek speakers. If to that we include the pro-Greek Vlachophons and Slavophons then the Greek fraction over the whole Geographical Macedonia becames more than 70% and proves the rights of the Greek Cause in Macedonia.
So when you folks see them claiming to be "Macedonians" remember that in their older maps they EXCLUDED the very nucleus of Macedonia , the territories that gave birth to the Macedonian Kingdom ,territories that -unfortunately for the Slav-"macedonismics"- show an unquestionable greek continuity of 4000 years !!!

. That's why they excluded it back in the 1900s ...they knew it was a "lost case" for them ..so they concentrated their efforts to the other parts !!!
A map that summarizes what we're talking about
