Balkan communist parties meet

The 9th meeting of communist and labor parties of Balkan countries opened in Thessaloniki, held at the initiative of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), with delegations from Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia, Turkey and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM).

Discussions will focus on recent developments in the Caucasus, a new escalation between major powers and repercussions on the region, as well as NATO involvement in the Balkans and NATO enlargement, Kosovo, workers' struggles and migrant issues, along with the undertaking of new initiatives by the communist parties of the region, according to a press release by the party.

C'mon now Tsontos. Commie is quite different from Fascist. They are both totalitarian, but with an entirely different ideology...

Of course there are differences in ideologies but a number of historicals and political scientists like Judt (who wrote Post-war) talk about the striking similarities in essence and substance.

In any case both fascism and communism and their proponents have done enough to mean they should be exorcised from modern society.
