| Greece covers up kick to the chin Macedonia will continue using its constitutional name at the United Nations Eastern European Group after Greece’s protest note was denied, finds Mina from diplomatic sources. Greek UN representatives met with the Group and insisted it respect UN resolutions and call Macedonia under the name admitted at the UN. At first Greek representatives attempted to pressure the group verbally, and when Greek demands were not met, Athens filed a written protest. In informal talks, the man in charge of the Eastern European Group, Belarus Ambassador Andrej Dapkiunas told his Greek counterpart that no country in the EE Group has an issue with Macedonia’s name, and that a non member country (Greece) isn’t allowed to interfere. After this response, the Greek UN Ambassador asked to receive ‘further consultations’, after which he informed the head of the Eastern European Group that Greece was withdrawing its complaint. At last week EE Group’s formal meeting, under the section “Other Questions”, the president informed members that Greece had withdrew its protest and it does not wish to be informed neither verbally, nor in written format of the negative response to their request. Greek UN Ambassador also promised to never file requests regarding Macedonia or interfere with the work of the Eastern European Group again - says our source. The Eastern European Group is one of five regional groups at the UN. Twenty three countries are members of this group, primarily from the old Soviet Union. Each of the five groups promote their own candidate in who should be the President of the UN General Assembly. Last year, the Eastern European Group picked Macedonian Srgjan Kerim as their choice for President of the UN General Assembly. Diplomats see a typical Athens cover up in their attempt to hide the negative response they were to receive from the Eastern European Group hence asking not to receive any response, whether it be verbal or written. The goal is to not leave any paper trail or documentation regarding the failure. Meanwhile Macedonian Foreign Minister Antonio Milososki met in Skopje, on his request with the Commission of Foreign Policy to inform them of latest talks. According to Milososki, Greece is solely to blame for the talks. “Greece has a problem with Macedonians in Greece and Macedonians in general, not with our name. Greek politicians admit this! (in reference to Konstantinos Mitsotakis). “We don’t have the mandate to limit any nationality to speak their language or prevent anyone from expressing what they are, especially not if this is our own people. We are ready for a compromise, however, our potential for a compromise is smaller than the potential of Greek nationalism and rigidity, evident for the past 15 years, solely based on negating the rights of ethnic Macedonians.” said Milososki. Greece has also used Macedonia for inside political maneuvers. The 'name dispute' is on Front Pages in Athens each time a corruption scandal erupts, taxes are raised, inflation skyrockets etc. Code: http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/3248/1/ |

The problem is with the Fyromians and not with the Makedonians But i guess Milososki does not know about Greek history... He bases his statements according to his own Fyromian history... We will never accept Fyrom and the Fyromians with the single name Makedonia and Makedonians NEVER !!! Quote:
You love making conspiracy theories in Fyrom don't you... Greece officially calls North Greece as MAKEDONIA and the citizens of Thessaloniki and the around area as Makedonians ![]() BUT as i told ANCIENT MAKEDONIANS FOR US WERE A GREEK TRIBE !! ANCIENT MAKEDONIA WAS A GREEK KINGDOM LIKE SPARTA AND ATHENS !! Quote:
Fyrom will become an Albanian country in several years as things are going I think Mr Milososki should consider his own problem with the Albanians inside his little country

| UN Expert to probe Greece on Minorities UN Independent Expert on Minority Issues Gay McDougall will study the state of Roma and Muslims in Greece, and her program envisages visits to the Greek regions of Thrace and Macedonia, reports electronic edition of Greek newspaper "Ethnos". The newspaper says that McDougall's unannounced visit to Thrace and Macedonia, especially in the area of city Florina, is probably stimulated by the recent requirements by Skopje authorities for recognition of the Macedonian minority in Greece and return of properties of refugees from Aegean Macedonia. Before departing for the tour, McDougall met in Athens with the chief secretaries in the ministries of foreign affairs, education, labor and justice, and is to be received Thursday by FM Dora Bakoyiannis. "It is not excluded that the U.S. expert reveals Macedonian and other minorities in Greece, which can be seen from her readiness", reads "Ethnos". The Turkish Consulate to Greece also offered its cooperation in the tour. According to the newspaper, McDougall plans to publish a report on the state of Roma in Greece, whose number is assessed at about 300,000, due to be presented in the UN next March. //11.9.08 Code: http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/3401/1/ |

A typical Scopian <mis-interpretation> according to their all time classic theory:When the facts don't agree with us,things are very bad for the facts.
