International conference on Macedonian language takes place in Ohrid

Skopje, August 29 (MIA) - An international conference on Macedonian language will be held in Ohrid from Friday till Monday within the manifestation dubbed Year of the Macedonian Language.

59 foreign experts in Macedonian language from 15 countries and 57 local university professors and scholars will present their scientific work with regard to the development and contemporary state of the Macedonian language and literature in the 21st century and comparative topics.

Guests from Macedonian language and Slav departments within universities in Italy, Germany, France, Austria, China, Russian Federation, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania, Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia and Serbia will take part at the conference.

This event is organised by Blaze Koneski Faculty of Philology, Krste Misirkov Institute for Macedonian Language, the Institute for Macedonian Literature and the International Seminar on Macedonian Language, Literature and Culture.

Former DM Elenovski elected president of FYROM's Euro-Atlantic Council

Skopje, August 29 (MIA) - Former defense minister Lazar Elenovski was unanimously elected president of the Euro-Atlantic Council of FYROM at an annual assembly, held on August 27.

Elenovski also previously chaired the Council - as its secretary general in the period between 2001 and 2005 and as its president in 2005-2006.

The Euro-Atlantic Council's assembly reached a decision to issue a declaration on FYROMs Euro-Atlantic integration processes and on the importance of a NATO and EU membership for the country, being crucial priority for its future and pre-condition for establishing stable democratic values. This will determine the platform on future activities, the Council said in a press release.

Greek reactions to FYROM news articles on US name settlement plan

Athens, August 28 (MIA) - The name issue is being resolved within the frameworks of UN and each country that has offered assistance to the dispute settlement has received positive response from Greece, stated the Greek government spokesman Theodoros Roussopoulos.

The statement, which was reported by the local media, refers to articles published in FYROM media on the existence of a U.S. plan for Athens-Skopje name settlement regarding the constitutional name of the FYROM

Cyprus-based daily "Politis" writes on Thursday that the negotiations between Skopje and Athens are at "zero point" and are most likely to be "frozen" for a six-month period.

- We're at "zero point", a source stated, adding FYROM Premier Nikola Gruevski's estimation was wrong, when counting on the US support for FYROM's accession to Euro-Atlantic structures.

PM Gruevski to attend Republican Party Convention

Skopje, August 29 (MIA) - Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski will pay a few-day visit to the United States and attend forthcoming convention at which the Republican Party is to present its presidential candidate John McCain.

Gruevski will also attend a great Church-People Convention of FYROMacedonians living in North America, which is take place in New Jersey.

During the visit, Gruevski will meet many congressmen, senators to lobby for FYROM's national, state interests, as well as for further boosting of the bilateral cooperation.

He is also scheduled to present the project Invest in FYROM and the Government's economic program to American businessmen.

Macedonians hack numerous Greek websites

30.8.08 A Group going by the name of "Macedonian Cyber Elite" hacked into numerous Greek Websites, late last night. In its text, apart from the picture of the old Macedonian flag, there is the following message:

"This message is in the Macedonian language, because You are our offspring and we know you understand it. It is time for you to stop your hot headed stubbornness, we don’t understand with what aim you seek something that has never been yours. We don’t know how far you will go, however we believe not very far because we are aware for a long time, and today we are ready to confront and destroy anything in our way. By nature we are very calm people, but not naďve, and will not let history repeat… We are ready at all times to respond virtually and in reality. Our actions will only increase if you don’t change your policy, and you are well aware what you need to do… Understand this as an advice for a better future and better relations." says in the message translated from Macedonian.

Also on August 27, the "Macedonian Cyber Elite" took down the website of Greek PM Kostas Caramanlis. His site wasn't available for most of the day.

These are some of the sites that were hacked, some of them still have not managed to remove the message from the MCE.

euro I have already this news to the Greek Computer Crime Unit, part of the Interpol. You know that is crime and the distribution of this illegal action.

I dont know if this mean something for you but is important of this forum. If someone advertise the hacking must be prepare to face and the Law.
