U.S. grateful Macedonian troops in Iraq

SKOPJE, Macedonia, April 10 (UPI) -- The Bush administration is grateful for Macedonian troop commitments in Iraq.

Makfax news agency reported April 6 that U.S. Secretary of State Deputy Senior Adviser on Iraq Robert Deutsch conveyed the administration's thanks during a meeting with high-ranking Macedonian government and army officials at the U.S. Embassy in Skopje. Macedonia currently has 45 soldiers in Iraq.

A number of state and defense department officials accompanied Deutsch to Macedonia, meeting with senior officials in Macedonia's Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs.

The U.S. officials also met with President Branko Crvenkovski and Prime Minister Vlado Buckovski's national security advisers, senior members of the relevant parliamentary committees and Macedonian army special operations unit members.

During his discussions, Deutsch emphasized the vital role that international forces in Iraq will continue to play in assisting Iraqi security forces to assume increasing responsibility for security.

The Bush administration supports eventual Macedonian membership in NATO. Macedonia, Albania and Croatia are currently in the NATO Membership Action Plan

But I`d like it to see the skops wanting to join NATO, because if they want to join NATO they ll have to give up the name "Macedonia" otherwise we would Veto them out

I don`t think America cares about the 45 troops in Iraq, the yanks are desperate to show thay have many partners in the coalition of the killing when it is window dressing. What are they 45 cooks?
When the Yanks recognised the skops they knew they have them by the balls, I would not worry about the circus relationship between Skopia and the USA.

Thats exactly right! Also, they mustve sent 45 Albanians - another thing I heard is that military service is no longer needed in that country! Meaning basically that their already small army will get smaller - by the way 25% of the army is Albanian anyway, talk about teaching people to kick ur own a$$!

it is true they abolished the army. we have no army just military police.

Well, that shows the support the U.S. has from the international community. A group of hillbillies from the Balkans. I can't wait to lose this incompetent President and start fresh. He has done so much damage to our country in so many ways. 11 months and counting (unless he is impeached for all the crimes committed by him and his administration before that).
