In the front cover of his CD are his name and the title written with cyrillic letters.Isn't that enough to conclude for sure that he doesn't consider himself Greek?

I found a CD of him, distributed by this company Avlos Editions: http://www.folkmusic.gr/en/cd-en.htm

Yes, Bulgarian folk songs from Macedonia. It is not possible to speak about any national standard, because of the very core of the folk music - its a bit different in any region in the world, and also because of the mutual influence between different ethnoses.

Το πέμπτο ,μεταξύ άλλων, είναι ένα πολύ ενδιαφέρον μήνυμα.

Many of theese songs are played by Greeks to and possibly theese songs are from slavophone greeks or its shared songs that everyone plays , but the instrumentation is totally wrong considering hes village is supposed to be south o thessaloniki they wouldnt play like that , hes cd sounds more like Bulgarian modern folk
