Default The Populations of Russia and Turkey 1877

Of course no "ethnic Macedonians" were mentioned in the following journal article which described the different ethnic groups residing in European Turkey during the 19th century.

For our friends from FYROM browsing this site: with regards to the new FYROMian theory being promoted which suggests all Greeks were invented post 1822: who manufactured all of those Greeks outside of the Greek kingdom?

What did you like more, the excerpt about the Pelasgian descend and the simmilarity between Albanian and Greek or this one about the origin of Souliotes?

Remember this article is from the STATISTICAL Society of London, not the HISTORICAL. so the author can count but is not too well versed in ancient history.

Brilliant !!!! It's a rule that I use when searching evidence :

1) Statistics of the old travellers and geographers are good only for numbers, dressing and other cultural evidence ...yet they count zero on Historical Science ..that is the scientific based evidence of ancient history.

2) So my rule is ..for numbers and language in 1900 ..the earlier the better ...
..but for ancient history ..the recent the better !!!

This guy counts well ..but his "assumption" that the albos wee Pelasgians back in 1877 ...when in 2008 we still know dick about Pelasgians,Illyrians etc ..doesn't say pretty much !!!

Its not about being pelasgians or not.Always people, mostly Greeks, mark these claims as Albanian recent nationalistic inventions, and this document, but not only this, shows that they are not.
