You may be interested in this website, the "Orthodox Outlet for Dogmatic Enquiries". They have a bunch of articles here (a few of them have been translated into English here). In the Greek ones they say things like ancient Greeks didn't have a national consciousness and that modern Greece was created by Christians in 1821 AD (this one). It's not necessarily anti-Greek in outlook, it's just criticising the obsessions of neopagans to demonstrate pure descent, continuity of consciousness, language and religion with ancient Greece.

I just wanted to say that I don't like the fact that our new Archbishop is so cosy with the Patriarch. This man (the Patriarch) is ambitious and I fear he sees himself as an Orthodox Pope.

We need to be very careful with him.

John

Link to a 2006 letter written by the monks of Ag. Oros listing their reasons for dissatisfaction with the Patriarch. Nothing has changed, in fact, things are getting worse because of our new Archbishop and his closeness to the Patriarch. There has already been trouble with this Patriarch concerning one of the Eastern European countries.

And trust me the West was far more influenced from the Holy See than the imperial east from the imperial orthodox bishops who were following the absolute rule of the Emperors.
Actually it was Christianity that caused the loss of all those ancient authors for a very long time. It took almost 800+ years before they were brought back into the light. Greeks would have existed because they would have retained their individual identities such as Spartan, Macedonian, Athenian, Cretan, etc. But they all still would have been Greeks not in a National sense but an Ethnic sense.
