Default Elis , Olympia and it's Greek Dialect

I'm going to post you two great samples of the Elean Greek dialect. Elis was the region of Olympia where the famous and Panhellenic Olympic Games were made during ancient times.

I have to admit that their dialect of Greek is the strangest I've ever seen till now

Note that this "r"-passion is in the middle of the Hellenistic period ...where scholars believe that the Greeks were speaking one dialect ..named "common" ("koine").

Somehow ...after watching the Elean dialect ..now I'm pretty sure that the Macedonians originaly spoke a dialect of Greek

Ερείρ τι λέτε ???

Seems perfectly normal to me. Substitution of s to r is not a unique case in the greek language.

Cretans in Anogeia region pronounce L as an aspiring R (in fact the sound is something between these 2 letters, it is a rotakismos case.

After all, there are various mixing up in vowels in ancient greek epigraphs and texts, most prominently E and H,i dont see why this is not the case with consonants too.

It's a general rule that the north western greek dialects "hated" σ. Take for example the word ἀσκός (sac).

The protogreek form must of been Fασκός* , sounded like "/w/askors"

1) transforming F to Φ you get Φασκόρς >> Φάκελος , Φασκί
2) transforming F to β (Macedonians) you have βασκευτής (he who carries the basket)
3) eliminating F have ἀσκός and in the Lakonian case (hate σ) in becames ἀκκόρ

Andrea,i remember this phrase from a book in high school and if i remember well it was explained as <η φράτρα τοις Ηλείοις>.I'm sure you know what φράτρα (fratra) means,it's something like brotherhood, family, clan or tribe, which derives from the Indoeuropean word bhrater=brother.See also the German bruder, the Latin frater and the Russian brat.
