The Turks in Smyrna decapitate the neomartyr Dimos of Adrianoupoli.

Boats from Spetses arrive in Psarra where they announce the beginning of the Revolution and decide to make their move to liberate the Anatolian beach. The Turks of fort of Amfissa surrender to Goura and his troops

The guard of Mesologgi make their heroic exodus. Christos Kapsalis blows up the power-magazine which was in the windmill where had 600 ill, handicapped and women were hidden.

Our XIII Division undertakes the defence of river Dneistros.



10 April 1941


The final forts of Rupel and Paliouriones surrender after hearing that Thessaloniki was captured and thei ammo had finished.

The Hellenic flag, which beyond any reasoning was still hoisted, was de-hoisted. At the same time the German General shook the hand of the fort Commander and stated:

"On behalf of the German Nation, I congratulate the heroic defenders of this fort, who shadowed the glory of Leonidas and Themistocles. Please pass these words to the officers and soldiers of the fort. Last night the Berlin and London radio stations chanted hymns for you."

Then, the fort Commander proudly answered:
"General, we did nothing but our duty as defenders of the motherland".

Miaoulis and Tsamados, capture in Souda, two ships that were transporting foods and provisions to Imprahim .

Our 4th Brigade, which was defending the region of Delerion of Tyrnavos, due to an intense attack of the 5th and 6th Turkish Divisions was forced to retreat to the region of Ampelonas of Tyrnavos.


11 April 1914


The 'powers', lead by the Austro-Hungarians, edit notification, which required from Hellas to vacate Northern Epirus, between Kakavia and Delvino, that the the islands of Imbros, Tenedos and Kastellorizo are attributed to Turkey and finally, it achieves the voting of necessary law on the concession of island Sasonos to Albania.

After the act of treason our chieftain Panagiotis Fiotakis is murdered by Turko-Bulgars in Makedonia


12 April 1909

The Turks slaughter unarmed Hellinic populations residing in Adana.


12 April 1914

Our Army vacates Tepeleni, not a single soldier remains in Voreios Epiros.


12 April 1941

A sudden retreat of British forces leave our troops defending themselves alone in the district of Kozani, where it succesfully holds off the enemy. In the morning the area is evacuated.

Emperor Leon E' conducts an attack on a Bulgarian camp and exterminates an emense part of the Bulgarian army.


13 April 1204

The Crusaders of 4th Crusade sanctioned by pope Innocent III, under Baldwin of Flanders and Boniface, the Marquis of Monferrat occupy Konstantinoupoli. Three continuous days of vandalism and of every kind of attrocities are recorded.


13 April 1770

The governor of the fort of Rio in the region of Patra, the TurkAlbanian Moustafa All, launches an attck against the islands of Eptanisa, that are in the mean time beseiging Patra. Finally they are forced to lift the siege of the city.


13 April 1790

Slaughter of residents of Patra by Turk-Albanians, that continue the slaughter throughout Peloponessos to an extent that it is partially depopulated.

The Neomartyr Dimitrios from Trifyllia is decapitated by Turks in Tripoli.

Stripped from the very gallows he was hung, Patriarch Gregorios E' is thrown into the Turkish mob for extreme pillory. He is then handed over to Jews that drag his body three times around the Fanario's square, only to be finally thrown into the sea.. His body is found by a Hellinic fishing boat.


13 April 1822

Absolute destruction of Naousa. Young girls jump off the waterfalls of Arapitsa to their death instead of being captured by the vile Turks.



13 April 1827

Forces under G. Karaiskakis defeat the Turks at the monastery of Ag. Spyridon in Piraeus. After the victory, Karaiskakis' headquarters are also moved to Pireus.


13 April 1854

The strive for independence in Arta is terminated after the destruction of Peta's camp that was the insurgent's base of operations.


13 April 1941

Our Army vacates Moschopoli and re-organizes in the valley of Drinos.

Treasons allows the Turks to enter in the Monestery of the Virgin Mary in Bretsianitsa, massacre the majority, while the rest are enslaved, among them a large number of the Botsari.

Victorious battle in Levidi were Hellinic irregulars defeat the Turkish troops.


14 April 1824

The Egyptian fleet lead by Topal arrives in Neokastro


14 April 1825

Although imprisonned in Hydra, Kolokotronis demands to be put on trial be allowed to fight against Imbrahim.


14 April 1826

The Hellinic Government assigns in an English ambassador in Konstantinoupoli to negotiate with the Gate.


14 April 1828

The Emperor of Russia Nikolaos the A declares war against Turkey in order to enforce the Treaty of London of 6 July 1827 which imposed that Turkey and Hellas cease all hostilities, as well as various other terms.


14 April 1854

The Rebels of Thessaly, under the l;eadership of Euthymios Kontogiannis, are forced to resolve the siege of Domokos, which had begun on the 28th of March.


14 April 1867

Kioutachi with a force of 6.000 Turks, begin the second siege of Mesologgi. a second force of 10.000 men is dispatched by Kioutachi in order to it occupy Amfissa and entire the Eastern Sterea Hellas.


15 April 1941

Strong resistance in Dispilio, Petra Olympos, Kleisouria and Tempi against the Germans.

The force of 150 men under Lieutenant Nikostratos Kalomenopoulos (Nida), is betrayed to the Turks and found in village Drosopigi of region Morihovouno where after being attacked by the Turkish 45 men are captured and 6 dead.

After a long siege by land and sea, the Turkish guard surrenders Naupactos. Finally the Hellinic flag may fly over the fort of Its-Kale.


18 April 1878

After the mediation of the British consuls of Athens and Adrianoypoli, a truce is signed in the village Smokovo between rebels and Turkish forces. The major revolts were formally terminated in Thessaly, Epirus and Macedonia however were continued under the form of gorrila warfare.

Our Voreio-Epirotic forces attack on Tepeleni in Voreios Epiros

New Efesos is taken.
