| 22 June 168 BC The Macedonian army under the leadership of King Perseas is defeated by the Romans,led by Aemilious Paulus,at Pydna.The Battle of Pydna is considered among the most significant in antiquity because it played an important role in the subsequent political events of Greece.After the fall of the Macedonian kingdom it was only a matter of time for the Romans to take the control of the political affairs in Greece. 22 June 1821 The revolution in Greece together with information of a revolutionary movement in Cyprus,result in the execution of the Archbishop of Cyprus Kyprianos and three other Bishops along with other notables,clergymen and common people of the island. 22 June 1825 Colonel Baron Charles Fabvier (1782 - 1855,Karolos Favieros as Greeks called him)is appointed by the government as Commander of the Tactical Army. 22 June 1837 Ernest Ziller is born in Oberlausitz of Saxony.He will later come to Greece where he will plan many neoclassical buildings. The Presidential Mansion and residence of the President of the Hellenic Republic is designed by him.Also the National Library was built under his survey.In Thessaloniki,the neoclassical building where the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle is operating,is designed by him. 22 June 1962 In Mount Athos (Aghion Oros) begin the celebrations for the millennium of the Athonite Monasticism.

| 29 June 1822 Mahmut pasha of Drama (Dramalis),Tosal Ali pasha,Mahmut Hasan pasha and Erip Ahmet pasha,heads of powerful military forces camp near Lamia.Aim of their expedition is the repression of the Revolution. 29 June 1850 The Patriarchal Synod issues the Synodic Volume,through which the Greek Ecclesiastical Provinces of the Ecumenical Patriarchate are proclaimed a Self-Governed Church,the Autocephalous Greek Church. 29 June 1874 It is published in the newspaper "Times" («Καιροί») the article of Charilaos Trikoupis entitled "Who's to blame?"(«Τις πταίει»).Trikoupis shows as the person in charge for the political crisis that takes place,the King Georgios I.He negatively comments the King's choices in the formation of the governments and he condemns him for bypassing the parliamentary opinion on the selection of Prime Ministers. 29 June 1917 Venizelos with a decree cancels as anticonstitutional the royal decree of October 1915 with which the king had dissolved the Parliament where Venizelos had the majority.He simultaneously calls that Parliament for a second regular session on July 12.This "resurrected" Parliament remained in the history as "the Parliament of Lazaruses". 29 June 1921 The attack of the Greek army in M. Asia begins,having as objective the occupation of Eski-shehir. 29 June 1994 The European Court vindicates Greece for the embargo put on Fyrom. 29 June 2002 Following a failed bombing attempt on the "Hellas Flying Dolphins" company in the harbour of Piraeus,the Greek authorities capture an injured suspect,Savvas Xiros.He is connected straightly to the terrorist organisation, November 17. Few days later the two safe houses of the organisation are discovered and little by little the clew that leads to the head of the organisation that acted from 1975,begins to unfold .
