Christina Applegate's "on-again, off-again" boyfriend Lee Grivas has died.

The 26-year-old skateboarder and photographer was found dead in his Hollywood apartment on Wednesday, gossip website TMZ.com has reported.

"I am profoundly saddened," Applegate said in a statement to Us Magazine.

"Lee was an incredible human being who was an extremely important and beautiful part of my life.

The former Married with Children star said Grivas was "missed beyond words".

"He touched so many and I feel much sadness for his mother, father, brother, and all of his family and friends."

According to TMZ.com, Grivas' body was found by a neighbour.

"Although the autopsy has not been completed, we're told there were no visible signs of trauma," the TMZ report said.

Grivas has been described as Applegate's "on-again-off-again" lover and one source has told People magazine the couple were not dating when he died.


However, another friend of the Samantha Who? star told Us "Christina really loved him".

Applegate began seeing Grivas in 2005, the year her divorce to husband Jonathon Schaech was finalised.

"We're very happy with each other," Grivas told People in December that year.

"I like making her smile and she likes making me smile. It's really innocent and fun."

Hollywood actress Christina Applegate's boyfriend has reportedly been found dead in his apartment.



Lee Grivas dated Applegate on and off for years, his body was found by a neighbour this morning.

No autopsy has been conducted, but so far there are no signs of foul play.

US tabloid, The National Enquirer broke the story.

"Applegate and Grivas, a 26-year-old skateboarder and photographer, had a rocky on-again, off-again relationship due to his continual battle with drugs and alcohol," it reported.

"But the couple had decided to give it one last shot this past April when Grivas made another attempt at getting clean."

Grivas had a history of substance abuse, and it’s believed the couple split several times over his drug habits.

THE boyfriend of Hollywood actress Christina Applegate has been found dead in his apartment.

The body of Lee Grivas, 26, who had dated Samantha Who? star Applegate on and off for over two years, was discovered by a neighbour in the living room of his Hollywood home, TMZ.com is reporting.

It was reported there were no visible signs of trauma on his body and investigations are continuing.

Website Gaywired.com reported he died from a heroin overdose and had battled with drugs and alcohol for years.

"I am profoundly saddened," Applegate said in a statement to Usmagazine.com.

"Lee was an incredible human being who was an extremely important and beautiful part of my life.

"He is missed beyond words," she added.

"He touched so many and I feel much sadness for his mother, father, brother, and all of his family and friends."

A friend said, "Christina really loved him," Usmagazine.com reported.

"He was a really nice guy but also very sad."

Applegate, 36, and Grivas were not dating at the time of his death, the source said.

Grivas has been described as an "Alaskan fisherman and aspiring photographer" by People.com.

The couple reportedly met in 2005 after she split from her husband, actor Johnathon Schaech. They officially divorced in 2007.

Applegate is best known for her role in TV show Married With Children and the films Anchorman and The Sweetest Thing.

Christina Applegate's Boyfriend Lee Grivas Dead from a Drug Overdose

Samantha Who star Christina Applegate’s boyfriend Lee Grivas was found dead from an apparent heroin overdose on July 1.

Applegate and Grivas, a 26-year-old skateboarder and photographer, had a rocky on-again, off-again relationship due to his continual battle with drugs and alcohol. But the couple had decided to give it one last shot this past April when Grivas made another attempt at getting clean, according to The National Enquirer.

"Lee also had a long history of drug problems, dating back to his teen years. Christina broke up with him a number of times because of his struggles with getting clean. She loved him, but couldn't stand by and watch him ruin his life,” according to the Enquirer.

The pair met in 2006 while Applegate was performing on Broadway in Sweet Charity. At the time she met Grivas, Applegate's marriage to actor Jonathan Schaech had recently ended.

Grivas’ death was reported as a possible accident or suicide pending toxicology reports but an official cause of death has yet to be issued.

“Lee's battle with drugs got the better of him. Christina is still in complete shock. He was just so young,” according to a source close to the couple.
