Default Thessaloniki hotels

Im going to Thessaloniki for 4-5 days. Do any of you know of a decent hotel to stay at in a good location that I can walk to restaurants/shops etc etc etc?

Also, im not going to be renting a car. Is Chalkidiki easy to get to by Bus??

Thanks in advance for any info provided!

Trasport system in Thessaloniki is very good. I have not been to any hotels so I can not help there.

I have stayed at Kinissi Palace. It is on Egnatia street. Walking distance to most places and you can catch a bus anywhere else you would like to go. Nice hotel. I have always driven to Halkidiki. I am sure there must be a good transport system though. Thessaloniki has the only airport in the area.

The bus station is just a few clicks from the main train station (called Makedonia) if I remember correctly. From there you'll find a bus for just about anywhere.

Thanks for all of your advice!! Some good recommendations, I will definitely pick one of the hotels as they seem to be centrally located.

THX!

All the hotels you may find in the red frame are in the centre of the city. Just some minutes walk, you 'll enjoy anyway watching the windows of the shops. In the city you can move with buses that serve the public all day, from very early in the morning until very late at night. You can find a taxi at any moment of the day or the night. They do not cost much compared to other countries and they bring you everywhere. So ,they are a good alternative.
If you want to go on bus in Chalkidiki you will have to take one from the KTEL Chalkidikis. Here is some information
