Most serious historical works are not and never will be on the internet. They are contained in published in book form.

But you can own a Scanner like the bottom of the line Canon Canoscan Lide 70 which I personally own. Once you own a scanner you can scan in pages from books to share to a forum like this one. But once you scan a document, it is only an image file which is not very useful for webforums or websites.

OCR is "Optical Character Recognition" it is software that takes such scanned images and renders the print of the image file to plain text or other output formats you can easily edit and share instead of having it exist only as an image.

My scanner came bundled with a "Free" version of Omnipage SE, or Omnidocument. This is a crippled software that is very slow and innacurate on purpose so they can charge alot more for the Pro version. It is alot of work to correct such an innacurate software.

It is much better to get the lastest ABBY Finereader PRO or OmniPage Professional 16 from a torrent site. These complete Pro versions, OCR alot faster and with less incorrect passages, unlike alot of the crippled bundled versions that you get for free when buying a cheap scanner.

anyone know what a daa file is? thats what i downloaded from that torrent but i dont know what to do with it

.daa is from memory, like an ISO, but only certain CD burner software (MagicISO) I believe can open it.
