I'm grateful for the clarification. But Greece is of just as much interest to me as the new country that calls itself Macedonia. So I plan to stick around!

How are we gentlemen. My name is Alex, hope to learn some alternative perspectives of Macedonian history here.

I am a Macedonian (the type you don't seem to like very much here).

I wish to engage in respectful conversations and dialogue with the hope that we can reach common ground on at least some issues.

I am not interested in being insulted with every post by the more 'extreme' elements in this forum, at the end of it all, we are all but human, so let us try and get along. Of course I will show due respect to you all if the same courtesy is afforded towards myself.

I see that other forums are considered by many here as inferior in terms of objectivity, historical accuracy, respect of members, etc. I would like to see this place live up to those claims.

Welcome to all our new members. PragMak, as long as your statement have some thought in them as opposed to all the parroting your countrymen seem to love to do, no one will ridicule you. But I have to say, your second sentence already tells us something about you. It is not us who have an alternative perspective of Macedonian history. It is you.

Hello PragMak

We welcome you aboard. I think you are well aware that the vast majority of board members will not call or recognise you as a Macedonian if you don't consider yourself as an ethnic Greek from the region of Macedonia.

As long as you don't have an issue with the term FYROM, Skopjian, Slav or Bulgarian then you will not come here with false expectations. I'm not trying to discourage you, nor am I trying to tell you who you are, but you will not get very far by negating the Macedonian identity that is sacred to us Greeks with your own interpretation of FYROM and its history. Do not feel that we do not want you here, there will be the odd nationalist from the Greek side but bear in mind that as long as you know what a Macedonian is to the vast majority of us then you will have no reason to feel that you are not getting the courtesy that every board member deserves. If that is something that you can not respect on this forum then it is not the place for you.

I hope this won't be an issue and once gain welcome aboard.
