I know that it's in our DNA to love soccer and after Euro who could blame us. But let us not pass on basketball. In soccer we were a, dare I say it, fluke. Luck, defense and passion won Euro but we couldn't even qualify for world cup. The English kicked the shit out of us two weeks ago with their B squad. So let's focus on a real positive. Greece is considered and has been for quite a few years, a WORLD power in basketball. We barely lost to an NBA team in the Olympics and last year won Eurobasketball. Now we are in quarterfinals for the world championships and we have a good shot to get through. So my friends, how about some feedback to this thread supporting the palikaria who are carving out a new sporting identity for our homeland. www.fightingbest.com www.pankration-novel-patrida.com

I told you my friends, Greece is a beast in basketball. We beat an NBA team last night to advance to the finals of the WORLD basketball championships. All the detail is at: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_yl...v=ap&type=lgns The only thing that spoils it for me is that THERE IS NO DAMN TV COVERAGE OF THE EVENT where I live!!!! Let's hope our soccer boys are inspired for tomorrow and that the Basketball teams brings home the gold. ![]()

Oh my God, what was that today? They couldnt score even un-gaurded it was as if luck had spitted us on the face. Terribe game for Greece, the Spaniards were tough, however that was no hard opponent for our palikaria, their bad-self was their enemy not Spain. It looked like they didnt have any more strenght, and the Nbaers did exhaust us yesterday. Anyway..life goes on, well done to Hellada for the great games they gave us with France last year, Australia this year and Usa. They were invisible.
