Attack against the posters of the Greek National Tourism Organisation in Rome.

A provocative act took place in the Italian capital against a photographic exhibition with tourist posters organised by the Greek National Tourism Organisation in the central square of Santa Maria in Trastevere.

The Hellenic Ministry of Tourism talks in its statement about "hotheads" that found the chance to dispute the Greek character of Macedonia.

On Sunday morning the passerbys realised that signs in English had been written on six out of the 32 poster-photographs that reported: "Free Macedonia, stop the violation of human rights in Greece" and in italian "Macedonia non è greca" (Macedonia is not Greek).

The exhibition had been inaugurated in February from the Minister of Tourism Mr Aris Spiliotopoulos in the Ιnternational Τourism Fair BIT of Milan, while previous Thursday it had been transported in Rome and Naples.

The director of the office of the Greek Tourism Organisation in Rome Mr Marios Sklibaniotis declared that the exhibition brought flattering comments on behalf of the Italian tourism institutions and citizens, and obviously somebody with this provocative action wanted to decrease its success.
