I'm 194cm, hazel-brown big amigdalota eyes and medium-dark brown hair (some ppl say it's like kineziko mallia ) have a light olive complexion as well.I've been able to track my family back on my patera's side about 10 generations backward (which goes back into the early 17th century.) And it's all Greek. Mother's side I have only been able to go back 5 generations, and again, all Greek, but who knows before that? and I've only got names to go off, who knows if they Hellenised their surnames? Most of my family is from Central Greece anyway. |

Long story! I inherited a written family tree of my father's side from my pappou which had his pappou at the top of the tree. So that's 5 levels already, Myself - father - grandfather - greatgrandfather - great/great grandfather. I was curious about going back further and was going to Greece that year for 4 months. So with the family name, and name of my great/great pappou I did a bit of research at the HoR at Evia which pointed me to Kimi - turns out he was a fairly well-off man and it wasn't hard to find out about his family. What I found led me HERE (The realmadrid shirt is my ksaderfo's - so SHHH!! A Church in Kymi built by his Pappou! so this move took me 2 more generations back! The rest of the searching wasn't as glamourous - it was inching my way up by calling all over Evia and took me 12 days of solid WORK! I found only a name and a location from a Church in Halkida, which took me to Kapandrition, which made 3 more generations fall in place to my great great great great... etc pappou Konstantine. Any yeah. It was my great pappou who moved us to Athens from Evia. My mothers side I couldn't go to far back because the village she was from was involved in a massive fire and all records got lost. The rest of the knowledge is out there, but without that peace of the puzzle - I have no idea where to look!! |

I can follow my line back to the end of the 18th century (from my fathers side) because my fathers ancestors where all klephtes in pindos and the most famous of em participated in 1821. My family wont forget those ancestors because we are pretty proud about them and my great grandfather (he became 103 years old and died in an accident, he was pretty fit for his age) used to tell me about them just like my grandfather does now |
