Two Greek parties recognized Macedonia's constitutional name

The leaders of the socialist and communist parties from the region once again confirmed their support for Macedonia's future. The countries from former Yugoslavia (Croatia, Montenegro), Turkey and parties in Greece acknowledge it is time that Macedonia's name was accepted.

The Greek leaders of the leftist forces think Macedonia can use its constitutional name. Two of the parliamentary represented parties in Athens recognize Macedonia's name.
The Greek representatives, who attended Saturday the Sixth Socialist Congress in Macedonia, did not mind the usage of the constitutional name. The media adds they will lobby in their country for the long name debate between Athens and Skopje to be solved.

The Coalition of the Left, of Movements and Ecology (Greek: Synaspismos, Συνασπισμός, full name: Συνασπισμός της Αριστεράς, των Κινημάτων, και της Οικολογίας) is a Greek political party of the radical left.

The party has members in the national and European Parliament. In the European Parliament they sit in the European United Left - Nordic Green Left group. Synaspismos is also a founding member of the European Left party.

The official position of both those parties is that FYROM should change its name adding a geographic qualifier (as their leaders repeatedly stated in the weeks leading up to the veto).

Marginal political organizations that have such kind of opinions find themselves where they belong, in the margin and have no political or social weight.
