Kosovo Demands FYROM Recognition

Skopje _ Kosovo’s government will not accept any blackmail from Macedonia over the demarcation of their border, the territory's Vice Premier told media Thursday.


“The demarcation is envisaged according to Ahtisaari’s plan but only after Macedonia recognises Kosovo first,” Kosovo’s Vice Prime Minister Hajredin Kuki told Macedonia’s Alsat M TV.

Previously on Wednesday, the Government’s press service announced that Macedonia will invite Kosovo authorities to discuss an urgent demarcation of their mutual border.

"A creation of a joint commission is envisaged" so to demarcate the Kosovo-Macedonia border, spokesman Ivica Bocevski wrote in a statement.

Skopje signed a United Nations-verified agreement for border demarcation with Belgrade in 2001, since at the time Kosovo was legally part of Serbia.

However with Kosovo being administered by the UN, Pristina and Belgrade disputed who had the right to sign the agreement with Skopje and the border was effectively left unmarked.

Defining the border was part of the plan for Kosovo's "supervised independence" devised by special UN envoy, Martti Ahtisaari in 2007.

Skopje has strongly backed the plan and insisted on its full implementation.

Macedonia is yet to recognise Kosovo's independence and claims it will closely monitor European Union and NATO positions, both organisations the country aspires to join, before making its own decision on recognition.

They will,they are negotiationing even their name,in comparison the recognition Kosova its just a mere trifle.

Yes but I believe that by recognising them fyrom hopes to get the Albanian community of fyrom support against Greece for the name issue.So far the Albo's don't give a fuk they will though if fyrom gets vetoed.

Albanians there have to desires,joining the EU or joinig Albania.So it can be Macedonia or New Macedonia,its not important,if they wont be able to accomplish the first one they will automatically switch to the second objective.
Our people make at least 30% of fyrom,so the recognition of Kosovo is just an obligation that state have toward its owns citizens.

I can't comprehend what they are negotiating for. Both sides of the border are full of Albanians, everybody knows it, and nobody disputes it. So, what is this fuss all about?

Yep.. So basically the fun starts here - either:

[1] FYROM comprimises with Greece over its name and the 60% Slav population diasgree, thus losing their identity and the country ceases to exist before it can join the EU..

[2] FYROM doesnt comprimise with Greece and doesnt join the EU and 40% of the Albanian population declare independance of Iliyria and the country ceases to exist..

To the Albanians it's all about MONEY KASH they know with NATO and EU lots of kash will pour into the region and we all know when it comes to kash the Slavs cannot match the Albo's who are trickier,cleverer,smarter,cunnier than the poor average Slav.
