Who says there werent Slavs who beleived they were only "Macedonian" and not Bulgarian or Serb in 1917? The first such sentiments among the population recorded are from the 1860s, but unfortunately for you, no earlier. Quote:

Ha, first say "thank you" for uploading it, because I personally did it. Second, if you check the article "Races and Religions of Macedonia" (Í*ðîäè è ðåëèãèè â Ì*êåäî*èÿ) published by the same magazine just 5 years earlier, you will see a completely different picture. My question is how come things changed so much in only 5 years? I will tell you - w a r. In 1917 when the second article was published Bulgaria and the US (NG is an American magaizne) were already at war. And believe me during war every mean possible is used for propaganda, including magazines. In addition to that Macedonia was the front line. On the other side of it was the Bulgarian army fighting the very same people who took the interview. What do you expect the peasant to say? "Yes, I am a proud Bulgarian, no matter that my countrymen are killing your compatriots by the thousand just over the hill!" As a matter of fact there is no indication that the woman was a Slav at all. Of course, just as I expected, you and the rest just stick to this only sentence in the second article like flies and pretend that the much more scientific earlier article does not exist... If your best argument for the existence of Macedonians is one line by an anonimous peasant, ok, good luck.
