.............rename a municipality of Gazi Baba, which is a large area of Northern Skoplje which carries that name from Ottoman period into "Aleksandar Veliki" (Alexander the Great).

First the airports, now a municipality with 100.000 inhabitants!Its a good idea to remove a Turkish name, but this is provocation and offense to the healthy mind of those of us who don't want to be dragged into silly games of posturing while the state is collapsing in every aspect.These VMRO-DPMNE bastards are waiting windows of opportunity to add injury to the insult and salt on the injury...........

If they were to renounce their Communism-styled ethnicity and put a statue or a name of a street in memory of the greatest conqueror, just like other places in the world and again, in the same time , renounce this garbage that passes from Gevgelija to Kumanovo (and nowhere else) as history, few would mind and consider that a hostile gesture.

But, no.This is clearly a move intended to straighten, embolden the local nationalism.This surprises, because the ruling party before these name changes showed moderate pro-Bulgarian sentiment.

There is a large, c. 8 km long boulevard named "Aleksandar Makedonski" in Skoplye, named so in the early 1990's.But the airport and now the municipality are more carefully named "Aleksandar Veliki".Very "clever", they want to represent this as a "neutral" action.............

As ptolemy says these ridiculous provocations are a god send. First of all it sets the Greek public even more firmly against them and forces the Greek govt to take a harder stance, and secondly they show that despite all their governments's rhetoric that "its just a name" it shows once more that they are active historical revisionists.

On top of all that renaming a Turkish place name to that will make them look even more ridiculous
