I can't find anything, even their official sites of their airports do not mention it. Give it time and the news item will surface over the next 48 hrs if it is legit.

Orphic dont forget that the Kavala airport name as Alexandros......so in my opinion to change a airport name must approove also and from ICAO.To have two international airports with similar names is very difficult to accept from the ICAO.

As about this issue the Skopjans have raised this issue since summer, is old think.

I have not read anything as well. However I have heard talk of a statue of ATG to go up in bitola and ohrid centres but not renaming the airport.

1 Airport in South Africa has the name of the Alexander
1 Airport (ours) has the name Alexandros

so if the IATA approve the name we will have and the Aleksandar Makedonski
