Kastoria Mapping Migration

Many times we hear the Slavs of the FYROM their argyments as about the population in the Hellenic Macedonia.

Mapping Migration is constructing a Geographical Information System (GIS) and web-site focussing on the forced migration of people from 1880 to the present day in the geographical region of Macedonia now known as the district of Kastoria, Greece.
The partners are the Refugee Studies Centre, University of Oxford, Centre for Computing in the Humanities, King's College London and The Research Centre for Macedonian History and Documentation, Thessaloniki. The content of the web site is drawn from a collection of material consisting of historical documents, photographs (both contemporary and historical), postcards, short explanatory texts, demographic metadata in databases concerning about one hundred and twenty communities and multimedia presentations of places, historical events and cultural phenomena. The Project focuses on a section of the geography region of Macedonia, more precisely the district of Kastoria, part of the Monastir Vilayet during the Ottoman empire, named prefecture of Kastoria and Florina when incorporated within the Greek state (1913), then becoming district of Kastoria following the end of the Second World War and the Greek Civil War (1948).

Very interesting that in 1900 many of the villages were majority Greek, BUT 5 years later after the Bulgarian Struggle most of the villages became 100% Bulgarian?!

I wonder how a majority of a population can just dissapear in five years?

1)They were exterminated.
2)They were exiled/forced to leave.
3)The Bulgarian records just recorded everyone as Bulgarian.
4)The Exarchate forced conversion, so everyone "became" Bulgarian.

I am leaning towards 3 & 4!

No need to post the statistics for every single village since you all obviously get the point... there is NO TRACE of our beloved neighbours.. well that is unless they'll admit that they titled themselves BULGARIANS..

My personal favourite is the village of Oksies-Oksia (no inhabitants now)
it used to be called Voulgaroblatsi !!!
Is there a site for the Kozani area?? the village of Zouzouli is on this one but my dads village is 3 villages to the east but in nomos Kozanis.
