Research concerning regions and regionalism in Europe has recently become very popular. It is quite often underlined in the literature that European States are moving towards a Europe of the Regions. However, there are still insistent voices that Europe of the Regions is a phrase most commonly reserved for romantics and nationalists separatist who seek the dissolution of the states in favour of smaller regional identities.

Recently the Skopjan organization ,Rainbow affiliated in the known from the Europeans organization that call as

European Free Alliance

The EFA is the umbrella of all the regional and autonomist parties in the E.U. These people would love to see a Europe full of minorities and cultures.
However, there are still insistent voices that Europe of the Regions is a phrase most commonly reserved for romantics and nationalists separatist who seek the dissolution of the states in favour of smaller regional identities like EFA organization.

As a consequence of Europeanisation, the regions have gained a more effective level of governance. This process was also encouraged by the European Commission, which has an institutional interest to develop a new level of legitimate government that bypasses the level of member states in some areas of activity. The example served here is that some nationalist parties, such as those in the Basque country and in Scotland, seek independent membership in the EU, and a scenario whereby member states would permit such a course of events would hardly be imaginable, either individually or collectively

Furthermore, it is stressed that the trend is correlated with a fundamental principle of European law, that is to say, with the principle of subsidiary . This leads to various forms of the institutionalisation of regionalism in the European Union and in the Member States as well.

Regionalism has its roots in the conservative and traditionalist reaction to the creation of the modern liberal nation-state. At the beginning of the European

Recently EFA tried to find the Macedonian Culture in the Macedonia Region Greece. What was the result? Really I don’t know. But I know for sure that these kind of movements are known , predictable and of course easy to find solutions.Greece respect the minorities in its lands.But fight any voice of irredentism specially those that came from centers outside not only from Greece but the all Europe.

Skopjan Diaspora (propaganda) must be inform more well as about the European circumstances. ;)

Some usefull informations as about the election past of the Unranio Toxo.

In the national elections of 1993 we have the first appearance of the Slavmacedonians nationalists. They showed up with the name of MA.KI.VE.=Makedoniki Kinisi Valkanikis Evimerias. They took 367 votes.
In 1994 at th eurolections we have the rename of the MAKIVE with the known Uranio Toxo=Rainbow. They took 7.263 votes. In the known prefectures got in Florina:2268(6%), Pella 1558(1,48%) and in Kastoria 301.
In the national elections of 1996 , rainbow coloborated with the OKKE(extreme communists) and they took 3.485 votes

The Macedonian Movement for Balkan Prosperity (MMBP) was formed in 1989 in Subotsko (Greek name - Aridea), Aegean Macedonia.

The MMBP, with the help of the Rainbow Party, registered a political party and took part in the 1994 elections for the European Parliament. This represented the first time that the ethnic Macedonians living in Greece had a voice in Greek elections. The MMBP registered 23 ethnic Macedonian candidates to the electoral officials in Greece. Not surprisingly, the Greek government took all necessary steps in oder to hinder this party. The following is a quote from the U.S. Department of State.

"The Supreme Court invalidated the list of Rainbow Coalition candidates but then reversed its decision two weeks before the election. Rainbow candidates had little time to campaign officially, and were not allowed to take part in government-sponsored television and radio programs whichincluded all other candidates. In addition, some polling stations did not receive lists needed for supporters to vote for Rainbow candidates." 5

"In the June 1994 Euroelections, a Rainbow list was presented by MMBP, in cooperation with the Rainbow group of the European Parliament (which included the minority and regionalist MEP's between 1989-1994). The list was immediately strongly attacked and slandered by the state news agency and some media; then the country's Supreme Court invalidated its candidacy, on the grounds that it had not declared it was not aiming at overthrowing the regime, a declaration not used since 1974. Following the outcry, the Rainbow and two other leftist lists which were initially excluded were reinstated. The Rainbow list was the only one not to get any air time on state television during the campaign and was not able to distribute ballots in most Southern Greek electoral districts; also, on election day, GHM and MRG-Greece received reliable information that the Rainbow ballot was not given to the voters in many Greater Athens voting places. Despite all those problems, Rainbow received 7,263 votes or 0.1% of the total electorate." 6
Despite the efforts of the Greek government and the climate of fear felt by the Macedonians in expressing their identity, the MMBP and Rainbow Party received a total of 7,263 votes. According to the members of this party, there were many voting irregularities including booths that never opened, voters lists that went missing the day of the election in areas withstrong support for the party, and "improperly marked" ballots being discounted. Independent observers believe that the real numbers should have been close to 40,000 votes.7

Kosta Gotsis, a member of the Macedonian Movement for Balkan Prosperity, told the Human Rights Watch/Helsinki fact-finding mission in 1994:

"We want all the rights of people who have their own identity and culture, according to CSCE declarations, we are entitled to these rights. One of the most important of these is the right to have our children educated in their mother tongue. It's very important to save the language. We don't care whether all the subjects are taught in Macedonian or there is just one hour a day of instruction in Macedonian-we don't want a utopia. If we are allowed to establish private schools that teach in Macedonian, that's okay. If the Greek government provides one or two hours of instruction in Macedonian, that's okay."

"Right now we can't get permission to teach a class in Macedonian, because, according to the Greek government, the language doesn't exist. To set up a school teaching a foreign language, you need a license and a certificate. But since the government says the Macedonian language doesn't exist, they won't give anyone a license to teach it."

I can affirm you as permanent resident of the Greece by birth that the Skopjans are known since in the middle of the 85 from the known nationalistic moovements.
One from the MAKIVE known member of the Pella was Peter Stoyanof(Petros Stoides).Today this person promote the Bulgarian point of views regarding the Macedonian issue by the known geocities web sites.What happened and laid down his Skopjan propgandistic duties and now his attached the Bulgarian , really I dont know the reasons.

Stoyanof and Filipov are both public embloyee in the Hellenic republic.!!!!

As is known the Skopjan Nationalists (Parissis and Filipoff) published 8 months ago the abecedar.

In the specific book that sponsor from Nakratzas Pavle Filipoff wrote the chapter "Story Of Abecedar"(page 35).


Filipoff as authentic propgandistic forget to mention that the source of his "article" is a copy paste from the Skopjan historian Hristo Andonovski.

Hristo Andonovski the favour propagandist writer of the known nationalist Skopjan Slavko Mangovski(like Uzunovski). In his web side makedonika (what a Greek name :laugh:) you can read a article that written from Andonovski and has the title To the photoprint edition of Abecedar (1925—1985)


Rainbow nationalists (Filipoff-Parissis) just copy-paste the known Skopjan Thesis regarding the abecedar and proove for one more time that his aim is not only the "language" but the know is nationalist Slavmacedonian view.

In 1920 the League of Nations initiated the signing of treaties relating to the protection of the minorities in a number of European countries, which specified the obligations of the states with regard to providing such minorities with civil and political equality. On August 10, 1920 such a treaty for the protection of the non-Greek ethnic minorities in Greece was signed between the Great Powers and Greece; it was named the Treaty of Sevres, after the place in France where it was signed.



By signing the Treaty of Sevres, Greece undertook certain obligations towards the minorities and their life, their property and freedom, as well as their civil and political rights. The Treaty of Sevres guaranteed the minorities in Greece free use of their mother tongue in their personal and official relations. The Greek government undertook the obligation to provide for a special. budget intended for the undisturbed development of schools for the minorities. Articles 7, 8 and 9 of the Treaty of Sevres are of particular significance here and shall therefore be partially quoted:



Article 7: "All Greek citizens will enjoy equal civil and political rights regardless of their ethnicity, lan­guage or religion. Greece, in particular, is undertaking the obligation to introduce, within three years from the date as of which this Treaty will come into force, electoral system which will take into account the ethnic mi­norities.."

The Greek “Ethnofylaki” or “National Guard” is a military unit, officially and legally integrated into the structures of the Greek Army.

It is a form of state organization, with the task to “protect the state against any form of extraordinary, internal or external, threats”

A few weeks ago the Florina/Lerin Greek National Guard Battalion organized a festive gunfire training for its members and all potentially interested civilians.

In the invitation for the event – public poster which was distributed among the population read:

The last sentence of the invitation, coming from an official entity of the Greek state, constitutes a flagrant and outrageous provocation against a sovereign state, the """Republic of Macedonia""", whose borders are only 20 kilometres away from the place the event took place.

Furthermore, yet again it is proof of Greece’s hypocrisy, which on the one hand accuses the """Republic of Macedonia""" of irredentism while on the other hand constantly adopts irredentist policies and fosters provocative acts against this country.

We regret to conclude that Greece will never accept the existence of the """"Macedonian people""""", inside and outside of its borders, unless it is forced to do so.

EFA-Rainbow reveals the true face of the Greek “democratic” state, its real intentions, and urges all EU institutions to exercise pressure on our country.

Are we to wonder if the slogan "MACEDONIA IS ONE AND GREEK!" promoted by the Greek government and the Greek army will be used to invade the Republic of Macedonia in times of instability in the Balkans?

Greece must once and for all start acting like a true EU member-state and not like an expansionist totalitarian dictatorship of the past.

Maybe the "gentlemen" in EFA-Rainbow are not able to comprehend one simple phrase in greek, the language of "their country" as they say.

"MACEDONIA IS ONE AND GREEK!" is obviously refering to the greek province -Macedonia- which is one and is greek. Are the EFA-Rainbow "gentlemen" challenging this FACT?

Maybe these "gentlemen" would prefer something else i.e. Macedonia being part of the skopjan state, the one they prefer to call and define with the name of the greek province, but this can only be their wishful thinking.

Aren't these "gentlemen" aware of the fact that no one in Greece except them uses the term "macedonia" to discribe Greece's neighbouring state? Haven't they got any link with the reality of the place they are living?

So, before embarassing themselves with hysterical and deceitful statements they should maybe firstly learn how to comprehend the greek language and then try to get in touch with reality, something that could even help them express themselves better in the issues that concern them and overcome their frustations.

The effort to balance the irredentism coming from FYROM against Greece with imaginary and fraudulent provocations like the article published on their site, is simply PATHETIC.

Greece doesn't recognize FYROM as "Macedonia" so Rainbow's claiming that "Macedonia is one and Greek" being uttered as an official expression of the Greek state is irredentism towards FYROM is moronic by default.

Aha, so in order to cover up FYROM's irredentism we need to invent a non-existent Greek expansionist agenda against FYROM. Curiously, I see Rainbow's ex-commies handing no advice on how to be a true EU member state to FYROM which actually is behaving like a "expansionist totalitarian dictatorship of the past".

The "Antiethnikistiki Kinisi" accuses Greece of irredentism towards Albania, Cyprus and Turkey. They have never mentioned irredentism against FYROM, so if they haven't managed to find it, the chances of it actually existing are reduced to almost nothing.
