As Macedonian immigrants arrived to U.S. they were living the full freedom od self determination.

From the beginning of the I World War in 1914, the U.S.A. holded up a neutral position and managed to kept itself away being involved in the "Big War".

But that position was abandoned in 1917, when 24 millions od American recruits were sent to participate in the war.

Among those recruits were soldiers of Macedonian origin from Ohio.

Facing the opportunity to declare themself as "Bulgarians" and to avoid the recruitation, they chosed to remain Macedonians, and gave their lives in the war.

According to the proclamation of the President of the U.S.A., Woodrow Wilson, all man of German origin, including the allies of Germany, were declared as alienated enemies and were discharged from army service.

So, Bulgaria as a German ally was included in this proclamation of the U.S. President. All man of Bugarian origin were released from the recruitation.

These brave Macedonians, chosed to fight in this war along with the American troops, and to die only as MACEDONIANS

Can our experts examine this one and see how valid it is?

Funny about that but this is what I found from a pro Fyromian web site..

SIGNIFICANT IMMIGRATION WAVES
Macedonian immigration to the United States began in the early twentieth century, as poverty forced many peasants to seek economic opportunities abroad. Most of these early immigrants considered themselves Bulgarians from Macedonia, and entry records from the period usually listed them as Bulgarian, Turkish, Serbian, Albanian, or Greek nationals. For this reason, it is difficult to determine precise numbers of Macedonian immigrants. It is estimated, however, that between 1903 and 1906, approximately 50,000 Macedonian Bulgarians entered the United States. From 1906 to the outbreak of the Balkan Wars and World War I, a few thousand more arrived. The first Macedonian immigrants came primarily from the western parts of Macedonia, near the towns of Kastoria, Florina, and Bitola. About 80 percent of these immigrants were peasants, with small craftsmen, workers, and intellectuals making up the remainder. The vast majority of early Macedonian immigrants were gurbetchii or pechalbari, single men driven by poverty to seek their fortunes in America, but who expected to return to their homeland after a few years.

So if they considered themselves Bulgarians do you really believe they would raise arms against their brethren??

Yeah,i saw it some weeks ago in makfrauds. It can't prove nothing. It was a good chance for some immigrants to gain a certificate of American patriotism and this guy could be a Serboman or even a Vlach.Besides,we never claimed that in 1918 didn't exist some individuals who considered themselves ethnic <Macedonians>.We claim that there wasn't even a single one person doing that prior to 1870.

There is no way a Fyromain back then would have raised a gun against his brethren Bulgar.
