plate - tsiniI can understand the 1st and the 4th word. Translation into Bulgarian language:

fork - vilica. "Vila" has 2 meanings: "pitchfork" and "country house/cottage".

spoon - lazhica ("zh" as in Kozani)

knife - nozh ("zh" as in Kozani)

In Greek Kozani is pronounced with a straight 'z'. Do you mean a more 'tz' sound, as in Kocani?

Vila is a fork in the Kozanitiki dialect. And I think hliari is a spoon but I am not totally sure of this. My father in law used these words sometimes. He also used misha for hallway and pishkiri for hand towel. On the other hand familia was used for family, instead of oikogeneia and post was used for the post office instead of tachydromeio.

"Ancient Macedonian language has been recognised as a Greek dialect.

Specifically, the ISO XMK has the following specification:

Status: Extinct
Family: Indo-European
Subgroup: Macedonian
Subgrouping Code: Indoeuropean Greek Branch

Brief Description: The ancient language of the Macedonian kingdom in N. Greece and modern Macedonia during the later 1st millennium BC. Survived until the early 1st millennium AD. NOT to be confused with the modern Macedonian language, which is a close relative of the Slavic Bulgarian."

Seems Vlach langauge .

I posted this on another thread. 1904 census for Kozani which was still under the control of the Ottoman Empire.

Population Greek 12.000 Vlach 300

It doesn't make sense that Vlach words would be part of the Kozanitiki dialect given the above numbers.

We know that the original inhabitants of Kozani came to the area (mountain plateau) from the plains of Macedonia in order to avoid the Turks - Aghios Dimitrios church was then a monastery and the whole area was heavily forested. We also know that new settlers came from the Epirus area a few years later.

Don't worry,i know these vilages very well.We have 196 villages in Serres prefecture but i know were is located everyone. When i was soldier,a surgeant from Ano Poroia named Nanos heard that i am from Serres region and asked me the name of my village. When i answered<Emmanouil Papas> he said?<Where is this village?I hear this name for first time!>
I have been in Rodopoli and Parapotamos as well,15-16 years ago.In Rodopoli i stayed around 3-4 weeks.Nice village,i liked it.It's the economical center of the region.Parapotamos,if i remember well is a small village with 100-150 inhabitants.

Haha, enas enas vgainoun sti fora oi...akanedes.:) !Do you know the moto:Eimaste oraioi giati eimaste Serraioi?
Foti's village is one of the bigest in Serres, about 2500 inhabitants who are originating from Skopos,a town in Eastern Thrace.Their ancestors came in the area after the population exchange in 1922 and founded their new homeland in a very fertile plain near Strymonas river.Neos Skopos is famous in Serres region for his watermelons and therefore its inhabitants bears the nickname...karpouzas(karpouzi=watermelon).
Now,Foti, listen a funny incident that happened around 16-17 years ago. Some of your fellow villagers who wanted to reserve a restaurant for a wedding feast couldn't find in their village anyone available and therefore they went in the neighboring village Agio Pnevma. When they were asked <where are you from?> and responded <eimaste Skopianoi> (We are Skopians=from Skopos) they got the answer:<Go away from here,we don't like Skopians!>
