Hey guys, this might not tie in with macedonia, but its Greek history...theres another version of 300 spartans movie coming out simply titled "300" by the makers of sin City, check out the website.
Looks awesome, lets hope it makes us forget about shameful movies such as TROY and Oliver Stone Alexander....

That's sound nice. There is relative thread in the General Chit Chat (http://www.macedoniaontheweb.com/forum/general-chit-chat/) subforum. 300 Spartans..By Miller (http://www.macedoniaontheweb.com/forum/general-chit-chat/560-300-spartans-miller.html) so I will merge this thread with that one

I think I heard Spring 2007. There is a website that is showing some video journals on the making of the film. I am hoping is a good one. Really though, Greeks have to start doing this stuff for themselves. I know there are many problems to doing this (ie distribution, money, etc...) but we have to start.

That is but one reason I think more and more Greeks have to do it for ourselves and stop leaving it up to others. We have to support each other though, or it won't work. We can't wait till others like it before we embrace it. I support Pankration so much in his efforts writing books for us. Some people may not like it, but I can honestly say it is great in my opinion. I hope you guys know he is still writing the sequel, even though he isn't making any big bucks. Here is the address.

I went to the links posted and although the movie looks interesting and in today's parlance will be "cool" remember that it is from a graphic novel (a glorified comic book) and even though I loved SIN CITY, I am not sure how this will translate as an historical film. Regardless it's a great story.
My friend PhiliptheUniter is a very passionate Greek who believes we should support each other and I thank him for pitching my book. However, I don't want members on this or any other site to misconstrue that passion for a commercial pitch. I write books, articles, letters etc. because I like it. The novel, Patrida, was in me and it had to come out. Writers know what I'm talking about. Feel free to visit the sites he mentions but don't feel you have to support me or anyone else. Being Greek means making choices without being pressured. So thank you Philip but you know better than anyone you can't tell Greeks what to do and we shouldn't. One last note, by now quite a few people are reading or have read the novel so it is getting out there (and a few have even paid!).

No worries man. I'm just rying to get the message out, not tell people what to do. My point was that you are actually writing the sequal, despite there being no money in it for you ( I didn't know a few were sold though, that is great). That's the passion you have, writing because you love the history. I also want us to recognize our own accomplishments ourselves, before others tell us that things are good.
As for 300. I do hope it is better than Alexander. However, much of the history of ALexander was prety accurate. It dealt way too much with the theory of his sexuality though. Troy, had some great scenes, but in the end, not too good. Pretty lame in many respects. 300 should be a Hollywood type production. I had heard that they will not be married to historical fact. I have no idea how much they will embelish, if they will at all. Anyway, I hope it is great.
