Hi All!
The early christian basilica's from 3rdc.A.D. to 6/7th cA.D. were they always situated in big towns or highly populated area's?
I mean could there be erected a christian basilica on a important trading route let's say Via Egnatia without the location of the basilica being in a town or populated area?
Is btw the Hagios Demetrios in Thessalonike one of the largest early christian basilica's in Macedonia(GR) or the rest of Greece, the Hagios Demetrios +-50 meters in length was that the biggest?
Are there any big early christian basilica's in Greece outside of the ancient towns ore populated area's?
All the best,
