As you know in the year 1878 we have two big events regarding the Greek interests in Macedonia (and not only). The Treaty of San Stefano and the Congress of Berlin. For the Greeks, the results of the Congress of Berlin despite the momentary disappointments were highly satisfactory, for both Macedonia and Eastern Rumelia were withheld from Bulgaria. Although the Greek government had been unable to influence events in Macedonia, yet indigenous Macedonians had already begun to fend for itself. This fend was the creation of several committees.
One of them was the Macedonian Committee.
The below book that publish in December of 1878 in Athens includes the annual balance-sheet(1878) of this Committee and you will read the financial and the military armament profits.
The most Known of those Macedonians that signed this bsheet was Stefanos Dragoumis.
Great thanks to Ptolemy for this finding.
