Its ok, there is still time to force them back to FYROM - what has do be done is you have to join up, no email required and vote against it as there has been a big debate:

1/ Join up:

Join, wait two to three days and post in discussions so they know you are not new, both sides have sent 1 day old members and their votes have been nulled, as soon as your name no longer appears red but blue, you a full member - ask to change it to blue when you join and make at least one contribution to a discussion - not real page, just a discussion on one before voting.

When you are a full member...

2/Go Here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Republic...version_.282.29

3/Find ''Option#4''

4/Type exactly this under option4# after the last poster:

# This if fair. ~~~~

the # in front adds your number, the little comment and then ~~~~ to add your name - it has to be done like this.

5/ Remember* The little Edit button you have to hit is slightly above where it says: Option#4 Brief Version on the right - not below Option#4 otherwise you will vote for the wrong one - good luck!!

Reaper in the first link(that its lock) you can read

As the result of a naming dispute with Greece (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_of_Macedonia#Naming_dispute), it has also adopted Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) as a formal title.

The old net-surfers maybe remembered that this quote wasn't excist:)

Yes, but you seem to misunderstand, the point is that page used to be titled FYROM, now if you type Macedonia into the search engine this is what you get under country. The page is titled Republic of Macedonia - maybe i'm too sensitive but why should the page be called that? Because the people of the country want that name? If Iran decides to rename itself tomorrow, Kill Alll Americans, the UN and NATO does not have to recognise it and they should not get to rename their page that on an famous educational website just because they decide it.

The option we are voting for wants the first piece of text to read FYROM as you can see if you read option#4

The opening page currently begins:

The Republic of Macedonia (Macedonian: Република Македонија), or simply Macedonia, is an independent state on the Balkan peninsula in southeastern Europe.

I think most would feel that is unacceptable even if the word FYROM is mentioned somewhere else later.

In my opinion Wikipedia, is very good concerning the issue. If you search any ancient Macedonian, it will always reffer their Greekness, and it always has a link to Macedonia. The one, only and real GREEK Macedonia.

If you put down Alexander the Great, it states he was an ancient Greek king of Macedon
