Livy XL.58 - a note in the Penguin translation say they were a warlike Illyrian people, with a Thracian admixture, who constantly raided Macedonia. olvios 12-11-2007, 01:13 PM They were Thracians that mixed with illyrians later on.We have talked about it before ,as indicated by both archaeological evidence and classical references. ok,if you say so,im not going to insist,is just interesting that that quote was taken from the link you brought as a reference. olvios 12-11-2007, 02:44 PM Thats why i provided the link........... TirAlb 12-11-2007, 03:15 PM Thats why i provided the link...........
to prove that dardanians were illyrians?:) olvios 12-11-2007, 03:21 PM You are trolling again. They were Thracians, thats why they are in the list and they mixed with illyrians thus gaining a mixed identity. Mygdonia 12-11-2007, 03:38 PM Above all there were two seperate sects of Thracian tribes.
The Scythian Thracians of the north and the Thracians that were liberated from Persians by the Greeks that later mixed with Greek tribes thus colonising "Hellenic Thrace" after its liberation. Mygdonia 12-11-2007, 03:40 PM Futhermore there is nothing in the Illiad that indicates that Thracians and Greeks spoke a seperate language. Thus one can conclude they were both of the same Pelasgian stock. olvios 12-11-2007, 03:54 PM A great number of Thracian tribes were Hellenised and were part of the Greek nation for more than a thousand years. They also are also called Ionians-Greeks by Hesychius of Alexandria.

Is aprooved that the Dardanoi ( Illyrian ) or Dardanos ( Thracian ) have Thracian origins . But the mixation with the Illyrian tribes create a kind of Illyrization of the Dardans .
But the most important thing is that they consideres themselves of Illyrian Identity . Not only the Illyrian or Illyrized part near Scupi ( REAL AL. Shkupi not FALSE BG. Skopje ) but already the Thracian part near Naissus ( REAL AL. Nish not FALSE SR. Nis ) .
Vlachs of northern Greece left Wallachia ( Romania ) in the VIII Cent. A.C. for Thessaly , and later a part move to Epirus and REAL GR. Macedonia ( Makedonia not Makedonija ) . They have Romanian orgins but in majority they consideres themselves Greeks !

1~ Illyrian is the origin and DNA !
2~ Thracian is only influence (linguistical) !
3~ Latin ? Albanian doesn't have latin words , only French borrowings !
4~ Slavic ! Only Shkip (Kosovan) use some Serbian words , the rest of the Albanians cannot understand them !
5~ Turkish , Ha Ha Ha . Greek has more Turkish words than Albanian !
6~ Other elements ???
 Peace Lover 03-06-2008, 05:56 AM But in all and all your right Morphesau , the Turks in Albania in 1913 was 5% of the population , these days are only 5.000 . olvios 03-06-2008, 06:56 AM Delete this crap Troy III 04-14-2008, 10:55 PM Futhermore there is nothing in the Illiad that indicates that Thracians and Greeks spoke a seperate language. Dumbass,
what you believe, is not what you know!
There is a big difference between believing and knowing, same difference applies between being "pre-greek" and/or "non-greek". vlakas 05-07-2008, 08:34 AM Dumbass,
